    Sat July 4, 2020 - Early to Ride, early to Holiday Festivities. UDHS to Wawa in Jamison, then, Ice Cream at Sweet Briar. COVID Precautions in Effect. (ad-hoc ride)

    Level B-: 14-14.5mph, 42 miles. Meet at Upper Dublin High School. The ride leaves at 8:45 am. Pretty meander for early morning on the 4th for July, before we go to afternoon BBQ's and picnics with family. Quiet loop from Ft. Washington to Warrington/Jamison in Bucks County. Total climbing 2118 feet. Outdoor rest stop at Wawa is at Mile 23. Outbound via Horsham and Warrington, return via Jarrettown. ICE CREAM after the ride: when we return to UDHS, we can go ~1 mile down the road to Sweet Briar Cafe in Ambler for ice cream, frozen yogurt, etc. Sweet Briar is also an outdoor rest stop. COVID PRECAUTIONS in EFFECT: Please refer to this document on our website, for details on Rider Guidelines to mitigate COVID: https://phillybikeclub.org/bcp_covid_19_rider_guidelines.pdf Please bring a mask and hand sanitizer with you.     Level B: 14.5-15.5mph, 67 miles. Meet at Italian Fountain behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 8:55 am. Consider this the next step up from the Toss of the DIce "C+" with more hills (5,200). We will regroup as needed, but riders are expected to ride group pace. Bring food or money for snack along the way, as well as a spare tube. Check daily listing for route information. This week the SimonS ride Elpis, but in reverse. Pizza stop in Paoli. Ride may be cancelled up to 1 hour prior to departure time.     Level C: 12mph, 28 miles. Meet at Spring Mill SEPTA lot beside Riverbend Cycles. The ride leaves at 9:00 am. BACK IN TIME FOR BBQ! Easy paced C ride out on the Schuylkill and Cynwyd Trails, then back through Gladwyne and Villanova. Rest stop at Trader Joe's in Ardmore at 15 miles. We will regroup at hill tops and traffic signals. Even though we are in "Green", PLEASE BRING A MASK for the rest stop. Cue sheets will not be available.     Sat July 4, 2020 - RIDE CLOSED 4th of July Ride for the hot dogs

    Level D: 9-12mph, 25-45 miles. Meet at Azalea Garden's formal entrance, behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 9:30 am. This will be an OWLS (Older, Wiser, Longer, Slower) paced ride for D riders to the Lower Perkiomen Valley Park . It will be a much longer D ride, but there are minimal hills. There will, also, be an option to take the train back to the start from Norristown. We will ride so that we can eat hot dogs half way through the ride. What better way to help celebrate a holiday. Bring helmet and mask (required by club rules). Bring extra tube, hand sanitizer, and water. The on-line route map is 7420 hot dog ride.

    Sun July 5, 2020 - Sunny Sunday Afternoon D Ride

    Level D: 10mph, 20 miles. Meet at Azalea Garden's formal entrance, behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 12:00 am. Come along on a ride with new distancing and old destinations. Bring a mask so you won't be seen with a smile upside-down. This ride is designed for novice riders or those new to Philadelphia. All you need is a working bicycle and a bicycle helmet. You will learn about all the other acutraments needed to become a Savvy Cyclist. If KYW is reporting rain outside their studio, one hour prior to start, ride canceles.     Sun July 5, 2020 - BELMAR BEACH, NJ and Beyond, up to Ocean Grove and Asbury Park, COVID PRECAUTIONS IN EFFECT

    Level B-: 14mph, 79 miles. Meet at Etra Lake Park, Disbrow Hill Rd, East Windsor, NJ. The ride leaves at 9:00 am. In a seashore state of mind? Today, we'll visit the central Jersey shore in Monmouth County, beaches more familiar to New Yorkers. This scenic route is popular with the Princeton FreeWheelers. In addition to cycling along Ocean Drive in the pretty seaside towns of Spring Lake and Belmar, we’ll also ride around Perrineville Lake, Manasquan Reservoir, and Lake Como. Outdoor Lunch stop at Belmar Beach around mile 40, plus rest stops along the way, to and from Belmar. After Belmar, we will continue north along the Ocean Drive to the seashore towns of Ocean Grove and Asbury Park, before returning inland to the starting point. The middle of the route (near the beach) is flat. The beginning and end portions have very gently rolling hills, but nothing steep. We will stop to regroup as needed. Total elevation gain is 2265 ft. Driving Directions to the starting point at Etra Lake Park: 1) New Jersey Turnpike North to Exit 8 – Hightstown/Freehold (NJ-133). 2) From the Turnpike exit ramp, quickly turn right onto Milford Rd. 3) In 1.1 miles, turn left at “T” at County Rd 571/Etra-Perrineville Rd. (Etra Lake will be on your left.) 4) In 0.2 miles, turn left at 3-way onto Disbrow Hill Rd. Parking lot will be on your left. Please allow 75 mins driving time from Phila. Meet at Westlakes Corporate Center Parking on the Chester Valley Trail. This is behind the new Springhill Suites Hotel off of Rte. 252. We'll ride many of the roads that we use on the COS rides. Will break into groups of less than 10 and abide by the SCU/BCP COVID-19 Mitigation Guidelines at all times. Ride leader(s) will sign you in.     Thu July 9, 2020 - Thursday Morning "D"lightful Hill Ride

    Level D: 10mph, 25 miles. Meet at Cosmic Cafe, Lloyd Hall, # 1 Boathouse Row, Kelly Dr, East Fairmont Park . The ride leaves at 10:00 am. This is a much slower version of the Thursday Night Hill Ride! It is the shorter version for now but as we get into August we will do the longer route. Plus I do this backwards ounce in a while. Seven Hills! Out to Penn Valley, down Mill Creek Rd to Flat Rock Park on the Montgomery County banks of the Schuylkill River, up out of the valley via Hollow and Hagysford Rds.     Level B: 15mph, 25 -35 miles. Meet at Italian Fountain behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 6:00 pm. A moderately hilly ride conquering Main Line hills that regroups at the top of each climb. As the days lengthen, so does the ride and we should be nearing 30 - 35 miles by July. No riders doing the listed pace will be dropped. Cue sheets will not be available. Bike lights are highly recommended. Please bring a mask for when off the bike and review Club rules for COVID-19. Optional after-ride socially distant drinks at Cosmic (bring ID & money). Rain cancellations will be listed on web site 1 hour prior to ride. Preregistration required. Gently paced, post-work evening ride to pedal away work stresses, suited for novices, newcomers to area, and/or anyone seeking low-intensity recovery ride. Meet in same parking lot as the "Multi-Level Conshohocken Rides". Start by riding on Schuylkill River Trail, and/or, Cross County Trail, which connects the Schuylkill w/Plymouth Meeting . As riders get stronger, we can turn off the trails and explore some pretty roads in the area. Please bring lights in case we return at dark. COVID PRECAUTIONS in EFFECT.     Level C: 12mph, 23 miles. Meet at Azalea Garden's formal entrance, behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 6:00 pm. C version of the Thursday Hill Ride. Four steep hills in Gladwyne, and we wait at the top of each hill. Some climbing ability required. Please pre-register though not required. A mask is required for the meet-up but optional while riding. No ride if rain at start or NOAA forecast of 50 percent or more chance of rain during ride. It is optional, but you may preregister until Thursday, July 9, 2020 at 5:00 pm.

    Fri July 10, 2020 - Friday Frolic w/Linda. This is the generic description. Specific details will be posted on daily calendar for each Friday.

    Level B-: 14mph, 45-50, +/- miles. Start location to be determined. The ride leaves at 9:30 am. Enjoy scenic adventures by bike on most Fridays, throughout the year. Explore pretty, peaceful roads in suburban counties -- Montgomery, Bucks, Chester, etc. Starting points will vary, so that we can cycle through different regions. Please check daily calendar for details of each Friday's route -- terrain, mileage, rest stops, etc. Cue sheets and on-line route map provided for each ride. If weather conditions are not conducive to cycling, this ride may be replaced by a hike/walk, or snow activity. As long as we are enjoying outdoor exercise, and Mother Nature, in the company of friends, we'll have a memorable outing. Cue sheets will be available.

    Level D: 10mph, 20 miles. Meet at Cosmic Cafe, Lloyd Hall, # 1 Boathouse Row, Kelly Dr, East Fairmont Park . The ride leaves at 10:00 am. Pleasant morning ride to the newest attraction in the Wisahicon Park, the Papper Trail Bike Coffee Shop. CWe take a little easier route out of the Schuylkill River Valley to W Hunting Park Ave and Henry Ave, Walnut Lane Bridge to enter Rittenhouse Town off Wisahicon Ave. Route home is over the paved Wisahicon Trail to Ridge Ave and down Martin Luther King Dr. If KYW is reporting rain outside their studio one hour prior to start, ride cancels Cue sheets will not be available.     Sat July 11, 2020 - BIKE CAMPING, GREEN LANE PARK 07/11-12/2020

    Level D: 10mph, 45/45 miles. Meet at Azalea Garden's formal entrance, behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 8:00 am. If you can't go cross country, go over night. Green Lane Park camp ground awaits our over night! We cycle out the Schyulkill River Tail and the Perkiomen CreekTrail with our tent, sleeping bag, sleeping pad, a change of clothing, towel and toiletries, on the rear rack of your bicyle. Share camp fee of $12.00. pack a lunch, recommend peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. We will eat dinner at a pizzaria full service restaurant. We will boil water for instant hot chocolate, coffee or tea in the morning before breaking camp. Full breakfast will be at a restaurant along the trail in Schwenksville. Returning home around 3 pm Sunday. Must pre register. Any questions, call or text leader. Watch for three day, two night camping trip in New Jersey then a five day, four night camping trip circumnavigating the Delaware Bay end of July and in August. Cue sheets will not be available.     Sun July 26, 2020 - HAMMONTON, NJ TO GREAT BAY/BLUEBERRY CENTURY - COVID PRECAUTIONS in EFFECT

    Level B-: 14-16mph, 108, or 75 miles. Meet at Hammonton Lake Park, Hammonton, NJ 08037, on S. Egg Harbor Rd/NJ-561. The ride leaves at 8:00 am. This ride is based on a route by Mike Krizauskas of BCP, SCU, and the Jersey Shore Cycle Club, originally planned to coincide with the Blueberry Festival in Hammonton, Blueberry Capital of the World. Mike K. has updated this route, to include scenic Lake Oswego, as well as other lakes, ponds, etc. On this 108-miler, there will be several rest stops The route, which is FLAT, will take us through blueberry farmlands, as well as quaint small towns in the Hammonton area. We'll cycle down to Lands End, that is, the end of the road at Great Bay. You'll see a wide menagerie of wildlife, as we cycle across the marshes toward the bay. You'll also see a facility along the bayshore which used to be a Coast Guard facility - it's now a marine research lab. Please note: we may have some headwinds, especially as we approach the bay. The 75-miler does not go to Land's End at Great Bay.
