Level C: 12mph, 80 miles. Meet at Azalea Garden's formal entrance, behind the Art Museum.. The ride leaves at 9:00 am. Let's learn how to bikecamp. Following in the tradition of Tim Carey, let's do a quick camping trip to Green Lane in Montgomery County. Cause as Tim would say if you can bikecamp for one night, you can go for two or three nights and then the sky is the limit! We will leave on Saturday May 17 at 9 am ( note new time) from the Azalea garden entrance of the art museum, mosey on out the SRT stopping first at The Tricycle Cafe for bathrooms and if need be coffee. Second bathroom stop will be at Betzwood in Valley Forge park. At Oaks we will get on the Perkiomenville trail which has ample rest areas, but our final official stop will be for ice cream along the trail. Once we arrive at Green Lane we will set up tent and then head to the brewery for beverages and dinner. On the morning of May 18th, we will get up, pack our stuff and head on out for breakfast at Snoozy's cafe in Schwenksville and then head on home. Stops on the way back will mimic stops on the way out. Never bike camped? Reach out and let us guide you!! Not sure you have all the equipment you need? Reach out and see who has stuff you can borrow!! Not sure you can do this? We know you can!!! ( and SEPTA is always there as an assist) Cost of both camping sites is $43 which will be divided by those who sign up for the adventure. This is a rain or shine event, so plan accordingly. Last year we rode out in rainy weather but did use a SEPTA assist at Norristown for the ride home. If the ride is full, consider starting a second ride to Green Lane!
