Level C: 12mph, ~20 miles. Meet at Newtown Rail Trail parking lot in Southampton, 499 Second Street Pike at Knowles Ave, next to Strathman Home Center. The ride leaves at 10:00 am. For February 7: Easy, flat trail ride along the Pennypack Creek Trail and the Newtown Rail Trail. Recommend knobby tires - mountain, trail, gravel, or hybrid bikes. Leader will be riding a recumbent trike, due to rehab-in-progress on right wrist surgery. Porta-potties along the trail, as well as the outdoor All-Aboard Cafe next to the trail at Bryn Athyn. Straight, out & back route on the same trail, in both directions. Since the trail mostly tree-lined, we will have some shelter from the wind. GENERIC DESCRIPTION: Enjoy scenic adventures by bike on most Fridays, throughout the year. Explore pretty, peaceful roads in suburban counties -- Montgomery, Bucks, etc. Starting points vary, so that we can explore different regions. Fri February 7, 2025 - Let's go see La Marceline ( Dani's bldg in Fishtown) (ad-hoc ride)
Level C: 12mph, 10 miles. Meet at 11th and Pine. The ride leaves at 10:00 am. UPDATE: let's meet at 11th and Pine, at Last Drop Coffee. Well, things are moving along on the building in Fishtown and a few of you have asked if you can go and see it. We are already in the sheetrock phase, but you can still see some of the insulation for those of you who care about the guts of the building. We have also started putting up the slate cladding, which I think is super fun. Not quite sure which route I will take, but thinking Delaware avenue or the 5th street tunnel. Once we are at the building, we will bring out bikes inside and I'll give you a quick tour. Return is on your own-- stop at La Colombe if you want, or Fiore fine foods, or one of the other great establishments in Fishtown. If it is raining one hour before, I will cancel the ride. This will be a multimodal D ride. You can take the Mediia-WaWa Septa Regional Rail to the Media Station for the start of the ride. We will go to the Infinite Diner in Aston for a brunch stop. Then the ride ends at Wilmington Septa Rgional Rail Station to return to Philadelphia. There is a train from 30th Street Station at 9:46 to arrive in Media at 10:16. There are trains from Wilmington back to Philadelphia at 2:35.

Level D: 10.5mph, 21/25 miles. Meet at Valley Forge National Park visitor center lower parking lot. The ride leaves at 10:00 am. We ride the SRT and Cross County Trail to Conshy or Plymouth Meeting (or other locations) for coffee with fellow cyclists. Ride is open to meet riders from Philly or elsewhere. If you are planning a ride and want to meet up for coffee along the way, text leader morning of ride. Note: If you are new to group riding, this is a great ride for you. Off we go to Narberth to see the sights and to go to GET cafe! Not sure how I will go but might decide that the Easter Seals route is the way to go. I know many of you are unclear about this mysterious route, but perhaps that is why you should do this ride! Leaving a bit early from Cosmic, cause I have to be back a bit early and it is no longer freezing outside so a slightly early departure is not a sign of insanity. Cue sheets will not be available.

Tue February 25, 2025 - Tuesday Ride to Lower Merion- ARDMORE
Level C- through D: 10.5mph, 20-30 miles. Meet at Cosmic Cafe, Lloyd Hall, # 1 Boathouse Row, Kelly Dr, East Fairmount Park . The ride leaves at 10:00 am. This is a generic description of the ride which will go to one of three destinations every Tuesday:GET Cafe in Narberth; Farmers’ Market in Ardmore or Spread Bagelry in Wynnewood. Some climbing of 800 to 1000 feet. First part of ride will generally mean a climb into Fairmount Park, across the Strawberry Mansion Bridge up to Chamounix. And then proceed up Bryn Mawr Avenue. and on to our final destination of Narberth, Ardmore or Wynnewood. On an ad hoc basis we may include new destinations and advance notice will be provided along with details. Always a fun group of friendly people so come on out! Cue sheets will not be available.

Levels A-/B+: 16-17mph, B+/B: 14-15mph, B/B-: 13-14mph, C: 12-13mph, 41 miles. Meet at Central Park, Doylestown. The ride leaves at 10:00 am. Bring yer bike & sense of adventure. Expect good company on safe/low trafficked roads. Lunch stops may be sit down, takeout, or in a park. Will regroup as needed, but must be able to ride the posted pace. Must be willing to ride safely & obey traffic laws. Please preregister so we can know how many to expect. Bathrooms available at all start locations. Check day of the ride if weather is iffy (rain cancels, but likely to reschedule for Wed.). Will make a call at least an hour prior to start time. We’ll ride in the sunshine, and laugh all the way (apologies to the Mama’s and Papas), ……..up the Wissahickon Trail to the Paper Trail Cafe at Historic Rittenhouse Town. If they should not be open for some reason or other, we will go on up the hill to Ultimo. We will be back before 12:30. And in the unlikely event that KYW says it’s raining an hour before the ride, we will do all of this another day. Cue sheets will not be available.

Level D: 10.5-11.5mph, 28 miles. Meet at Cosmic Cafe, Lloyd Hall, # 1 Boathouse Row, Kelly Dr, East Fairmount Park . The ride leaves at 12:00 am. For the last day of February let’s shake up the winter monotony and spin up Delaware River using The Delaware River Trail, Greenway, and the K&T Trail to Holmsburg. We will jump over to Torresdale Avenue at Princeton Avenue, and stop for coffee at Bread Crumbs Bakery which features a variety of delightful pastries. We will head back south on the Torresdale bike lane, and return to Center City. If it is raining at KYW an hour before the start, the ride will cancel. Cue sheets will not be available.

Fri February 28, 2025 - Friday Frolic w/Linda. Flat Trail Ride on Pennypack Creek Trail/Newtown Rail Trail. Recommend knobby tires - mountain, trail, gravel, or hybrid bikes.
Level C: 12mph, ~20 miles. Meet at Newtown Rail Trail parking lot in Southampton, 499 Second Street Pike at Knowles Ave, next to Strathman Home Center. The ride leaves at 9:50 am. For February 28: Easy, flat trail ride along the Pennypack Creek Trail and the Newtown Rail Trail. Recommend knobby tires - mountain, trail, gravel, or hybrid bikes. Leader will be riding a recumbent trike, due to rehab-in-progress on right wrist surgery. Porta-potties along the trail, as well as the outdoor All-Aboard Cafe next to the trail at Bryn Athyn. Straight, out & back route on the same trail, in both directions. Since the trail mostly tree-lined, we will have some shelter from the wind. GENERIC DESCRIPTION: Enjoy scenic adventures by bike on most Fridays, throughout the year. Explore pretty, peaceful roads in suburban counties -- Montgomery, Bucks, etc. Starting points vary, so that we can explore different regions. Please check daily calendar for details of each Friday's route. Cue sheets and on-line route map provided for each ride. If weather conditions are not conducive to cycling, this ride may be replaced by a hike/walk. As long as we are enjoying outdoor exercise, and Mother Nature, in the company of friends, we'll have a memorable outing. Cue sheets will be available.
